Terms, Conditions and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026. These terms apply to bookings for the Art & Wellness Retreat in Bagnara, Calabria, Italy offered by Studio 77, for both 2027 sessions: May 20 to June 3, 2027 (early summer) and September 2 to 16, 2027 (late summer).
Booking and Deposits
Your room and your place at the retreat are reserved when we receive your completed booking form and a non-refundable deposit of 30% of your booking total. If you prefer to pay in full, we will send the balance invoice right after your booking. You will receive an instant confirmation email when your booking is placed, and within 48 hours we will follow up with complete retreat details, including arrival and departure information.
Each participant in a booking must provide complete and accurate participant information, including emergency contact details.
Balance and Payments
The remaining balance is due 12 weeks (84 days) before the retreat start date: February 24, 2027 for the early summer session and June 9, 2027 for the late summer session. Guests who have booked with a deposit will receive an invoice from Studio 77 for the remaining balance ahead of the due date, payable by card or e-transfer. If the balance is not paid by the due date, your spot on the retreat may be forfeited and the cancellation terms below will apply.
For reservations made on or after the balance due date for a session, the balance invoice is sent immediately and is due on receipt.
Payment by e-transfer is also available. When paying by e-transfer, your booking is confirmed once the funds are received.
Retreat Pricing
Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout.
Every guest pays the same retreat fee of $5,825 per person, which covers Studio 77 hosting and all group transportation ($3,800), 13 dinners and the boat excursion ($1,500), and workshop materials, instructors, and museum entrance fees ($525). Accommodation at the Mediterranean Sunset Veranda for 13 nights is added according to the room option chosen:
- Luxury Apartment, shared: $1,750 per person when shared by up to 4 guests, for a total of $7,575 per person. 30% non-refundable deposit: $2,272.50 per person. The second-floor apartment has one double bed and one sofa bed, and two verandas.
- Ground Floor Apartment, shared only: $1,100 per person when shared by up to 5 guests, for a total of $6,925 per person. 30% non-refundable deposit: $2,077.50 per person. The apartment has two double beds and one sofa bed, and is recommended for students, artists, and solo travellers.
Spots are sold individually. The per-person price does not change with the number of guests sharing the apartment.
Come Together & Save. Book two or more spots in a single booking and each guest receives 5% off the retreat fee, a saving of $291.25 per person. The discount applies to the retreat fee only, not to the accommodation portion of the price, and all spots must be booked with their deposits paid together to qualify. It is applied automatically at checkout: part of it reduces the deposit due that day and the remainder reduces the balance invoice. Per person with the discount, the total becomes $7,283.75 for the Luxury Apartment (deposit $2,185.13) and $6,633.75 for the Ground Floor Apartment (deposit $1,990.13).
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation requests must be sent to us in writing by email. The effective cancellation date is the date we receive your request. The 30% deposit is non-refundable in all cases. The following terms apply to the remaining balance:
Before the balance due date. Cancellations received before the balance due date for your session forfeit the 30% deposit. Any balance already paid is refunded in full.
Early summer session (May 20 to June 3, 2027)
- February 24 to March 16, 2027, 20% refund period: guests who cancel during this period may request a refund in writing. The refund will equal 20% of the remaining balance paid, excluding the non-refundable 30% deposit.
- Beginning March 17, 2027, no refunds: cancellations received 63 days or fewer before the start of the retreat are not eligible for a refund due to the financial commitments we make to our hosts, vendors, and partners.
Late summer session (September 2 to 16, 2027)
- June 9 to June 29, 2027, 20% refund period: guests who cancel during this period may request a refund in writing. The refund will equal 20% of the remaining balance paid, excluding the non-refundable 30% deposit.
- Beginning June 30, 2027, no refunds: cancellations received 63 days or fewer before the start of the retreat are not eligible for a refund due to the financial commitments we make to our hosts, vendors, and partners.
Retreat credit. Guests who cancel during the no-refund period may request a credit toward a future Studio 77 retreat within 12 months of the original retreat date, subject to availability. Any credit applies only to the refundable portion of the amount paid; the original 30% deposit is non-refundable and is not included in the credit. Credits are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable to another person.
Refund processing. Approved refunds are typically processed within 6 to 12 business days and returned to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Cancellation by Studio 77. If Studio 77 cancels a retreat, all monies paid by the guest will be refunded in full using the original payment method. Studio 77 is not responsible for other costs incurred by participants, such as flights, which is one more reason we recommend purchasing travel insurance.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended. It is not included in the retreat price and is each participant's own responsibility. If you must cancel for any reason, including health reasons for yourself or a family member, the cancellation terms above apply. Trip cancellation and interruption insurance can cover some or all of those costs; we strongly recommend obtaining a policy through your travel agency, credit card provider, or airline as soon as you book.
Flights and Transportation
Flights are not included in the retreat price. Participants are responsible for booking their own flights to and from Reggio Calabria Airport (REG).
The retreat includes the group shuttle from Reggio Calabria Airport on the scheduled arrival day (approximate pickup between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.), return transportation to the airport on the scheduled departure day, and transportation between all scheduled retreat activities.
Participants who miss the shuttle pick-up window can take the train from Reggio to Bagnara; the stay is a 10-minute walk from Bagnara station. Onward travel after a missed shuttle is each participant's responsibility, and no refunds are given for missing the shuttle.
Accommodations
Accommodations at the Mediterranean Sunset Veranda in Bagnara Calabra are included in the retreat. You will choose your room option as part of your booking: a shared space in the second-floor luxury apartment or a shared space in the ground floor apartment.
Physical Fitness and Accessibility
The retreats are inclusive of everyone but unfortunately, they are not accessible. Many of the excursions require a good amount of walking on mixed terrain (cobblestone, asphalt, dirt roads, sand, grass, etc), including hills, uneven pavement, and steps. Participants must be able to walk in this manner without difficulty.
Luggage
We suggest traveling with no more than one medium-size checked bag and one carry-on bag. Please check your airline's weight and liquid limits before packing.
Itinerary Changes
While every effort will be made to follow the published itinerary, minor adjustments may occur due to weather, local events, or the pace of the group. Departure and return times are approximate and may vary.
