Scultura Secco
This is the dry sculpture section where works are done with stone, porcelain, tile, marble, and glass. Bits of tile were unearthed in the mountains of Calabria, Italy, other materials were objects found here at home in Canada, often belonging to my grandparents. These fragmented palm-sized artworks speak to the pieces of ourselves that we manage to put back together after grief and heartbreak. Often these moments of transformation come with painful and profound emotional experiences. The message is this, no matter how scattered or broken you may feel, one day you will be able to assemble all the pieces to share your story.
