I have always been fond of birds and have many stories about them that connect me with my matrilineal side. The symbol of a feather is a powerful one in my life and this collection grew over the years to incorporate birds from Ontario and Calabria. In 2025, while out for una passeggiata in the mountain in Gesuiti, I came upon these porcupine quills. Combining the two by binding them with floral tape, the feather end is used for spreading washes of ink and watercolour while the quill end is used to write.
