Traditional is the second in a series of small, handheld sculptures. Like the first, it’s built from fragments gathered from home—pieces that carry stories from both Ontario, Canada, and Southern Italy. It reimagines what sculpture can be by weaving together materials in unexpected ways. Jewels, strands of pearly beads, and a shard of my Nonna Nina’s plate—broken while I was arranging fruit and flowers on a table—come together here, holding memory as much as form.

Tradizionale è la seconda di una serie di piccole sculture da tenere in mano. Come la prima, è costruita con frammenti raccolti da casa—pezzi che custodiscono storie provenienti sia dall’Ontario, in Canada, che dal Sud Italia. Reimmagina ciò che una scultura può essere, intrecciando materiali in modi inaspettati. Gioielli, fili di perle e un frammento del piatto di mia Nonna Nina—rotto mentre disponevo frutta e fiori su una tavola—si uniscono qui, custodendo la memoria tanto quanto la forma.
